The end of the year Sunday school picnic was held on Saturday, May 30, 2009, at Woodward Park. The day was adorned by plenty of sunshine and happy smiling faces from our Sunday school students. 

Families began arriving around 11 AM and settling in on picnic tables provided by the park. 

Billy & Nick Sahatdjian were flipping hamburgers and hot dogs on the barbeque while Aida Abrahamian, Christine Sahatdjian, Sato Sanikian, and Brianna Sahatdjian were setting up for lunch.

Some of the students were playing volleyball while many of the others were standing in line to take their chances with the relay games.  Barrett Arakelian choreographed the relay games for the students.

The first game was the potato sack race. The younger children started off the sack race, and then each grade level raced against each other.  Every student, winner or loser was awarded with a Baskin-Robbins gift certificate for ice cream.

The rest of the afternoon was filled with more games like the wheel barrel race, egg relay and then ending with the egg tossing game.  Winners of each of those games were awarded with more prizes.

Through out the afternoon some children took advantage of the playground facilities at the park, while others enjoyed feeding the famous ducks at Woodward park.

The parents were relaxing under the picnic cabana, playing cards, visiting with each other and some just listening to the Armenian music that was playing.

Sharon Esguerra and Kathy Kevorkian Stockdale had a crafts table set up with lots of coloring & hands on crafts for anyone who wanted to be creative.

After lunch and the games were over, everyone took a break to have some dessert, cookies and fruit.

The Holy Trinity dancers couldn't help themselves, they got up and danced several line dances to the Armenian tunes.

The afternoon ended with a raffle. 

The afternoon proved to be a very fun and relaxing day. I think that everyone who attended could say, that it was a very nice way to end the Sunday school year.
